Distribution:  Andes mountains, in southern Peru.

Synonyms:

Size:   10 in. by 4 in.

Form:   Bulbous frost-tender perennial.

Bark:   

Stem/Bud:   Flowering stems are solid and 10-15 in. long.

Leaves:   Leaves are basal, strap-like and glaucous.

Flower:   Flowers are yellow, trumpet-shaped with recurving petals, fragrant and 3 in. long in terminal umbels; flowering June to July.

Fruit:   Fruit are capsules with flat, black seeds.

Uses:   Use in conservatories, containers and as cutflowers. Use in beds and borders; dig up and store before the first frost.

Culture:   Grow in full sun to part-shade in organic, sandy, well-drained soil. Grow in a sheltered area. Plant 3 in. deep and 4 in. apart.
